Last month I invited those with suggestions and experiences of the social care system, to submit to the enquiry being led by the Public Accounts Committee in Parliament. I have had a number of very insightful responses which I have sent in to the Committee. While everyone's experience is different they all share a recognition that the system is too bureaucratic and that the front-line (particularly pay for care workers) is under-resourced. Bad care for vulnerable and elderly people is a scandal and I very much hope this Enquiry helps us identify the problems with the current system and the means to improve it.
