I am currently receiving a very large amount of correspondence, particularly relating to Covid-19. Last year MPs received on average 450 emails a week, and it is likely this year the total will be much higher. Therefore, those with urgent requests for help with a constituent’s personal circumstances are prioritised, whereas general questions about Government policy or about the latest Covid-19 restrictions can take some weeks to respond to.
I cannot always respond individually when a number of constituents write with the same email or letter. If you have emailed through a third-party website with a pre-written campaign email, please note I no longer respond to these directly. My position on these topics will be posted on my website, and you can find these under 'News'. This may take a few days from receiving your email to publish, so please check back if your issue has not already been addressed in an existing post.
I am unable to give definitive decisions or advice on how the Covid-19 rules and guidance apply in an individual's circumstances. In the first instance please check www.gov.uk for the most recent guidance in relation to your query. The Government works closely with professional bodies when determining the latest guidance and so you may also find the answer to your question by checking with the relevant body or organisation.
